Roland Allen began his admission career at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California and went on to hold senior positions in the admissions offices at Colby College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University. Additionally, he directed the college counseling programs at The Branson School in Ross, California, Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC, and St. Margaret’s Episcopal School in San Juan Capistrano, California.He is a recognized national leader in the college counseling through his involvement in regional and national professional organizations, including College Board, National Association for College Admission Counseling, and Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools.

He has served on the U. S. Presidential Scholars Review Committee for the United States Department of Education, and he has sat on counselor advisory boards for Princeton Review and the University of Chicago. In addition, Roland Allen designed and taught The Road to Selective College Admissions course through MOOC provider edX.

In his free time, Roland enjoys photography, bicycling and hiking.
