Summer Hockey Showcase 2010 – Recap
Thanks again to the players, parents and college coaches who participated in the 2010 Summer Hockey Showcase. The caliber of play was excellent, and we hope that parents and students alike learned more about the college recruiting and admissions process. This year 31 different colleges attended the showcase to watch and evaluate players, and in total there were 51 college coaching evaluation days – meaning some colleges had more than one coach attend and/or a coach attended the showcase to evaluate players on multiple days.
We encourage players to communicate with those colleges who attended the program to get some feedback on not only how you played but also to continue to show interest in their programs. We also encourage players to take advantage of our testing partner’s SAT/ACT diagnostic exam, which will be available at www.academicapproach.com. When you create an account, the diagnostic that is automatically added to your dashboard is the test we used as part of the curriculum over the weekend. The team at the Academic Approach asks that you email boston@theacademicapproach.com after you create an account, let them know you attended the Road To College Hockey Showcase, and then they will add the second diagnostic exam (a new exam for you) to your account, so you can take the appropriate SAT or ACT exam.
Also, for those parents and players interested in downloading presentations from the weekend, including BJ Baker’s nutrition workshop, click here to get to the download page of our presentations. If parents or players have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact Chuck Hughes directly at chughes@roadtocollege.com. We really do appreciate your taking part in the program, and each year we strive to make this a high-end recruiting showcase for D1 and NESCAC players. Have a great summer, and we will look forward to following your progress.
Sincerely,
Chuck Hughes and Dan Donato – Co-Directors
